Tired 1980s Condominium Transformed

 

 

 

 

Challenge: Take a non-descript, tired, 1980’s condo and improve the use of space, freshen and personalize it. Constraints included condominium by-laws.

Scope

• Remove old carpet and tile; install new hardwood floors and carpet throughout the three levels.
• Install various crown moldings for added richness.
• Use a unifying paint scheme to make it appear more spacious.
• Add major color elements.
• Construct a new closet on the first floor; remove pantry closet; and, remove half wall between dining and living rooms on second floor.
• Install new track lighting throughout the second floor, and new lighting fixtures in the 3 ½ baths.
• Install Hunter Douglas shades throughout, to insure maximum views yet still provide privacy/darkness when desired.
• Install decorative window treatments in living room and upstairs bedrooms.
• Replace all kitchen appliances and redesign kitchen for better space utilization and personalizing.
